Makuti House in Vipingo is very tastefully and well furnished with lots of indoor seating as well as comfy sofas on both verandas and an outside dining table ideal for leisurely breakfasts and dinners. Lunch may be taken by the pool, which has bar stools situated in the water to ensure that you stay cool whilst you eat. Makuti House is very much a family home and has masses of children’s toys and games. The house also boasts a pretty Petrea-clad, roof terrace, which is an ideal spot for sundowners at the end of the day. Staffed by an excellent cook, gardener and house-help to do all the hard work, relaxation is the only thing you have to think about during your Kenya Holiday home – stay at the Makuti House in Vipingo. For the fitness enthusiasts there are golf clubs to use for those wishing to play golf at Vipingo Ridge and even a set of weights for use.
The views from the top of the cliff are truly spectacular and you can watch green sea-turtles swimming about below the house at high tide. It’s only a short walk to down the road to access a sandy beach, which has a crystal clear lagoon all the year round. Pottering about in the rock-pools below the house at low-tide is great fun and one can walk to the reef at low tide without much difficulty. Local fishermen will visit the house from time to time with the catch of the day and fresh fruit and vegetables are available in nearby Mtwapa. For a relaxing family holiday at the Coast, Maktui House can not be beaten.
