Everything about Kivulini House in Vipingo is on an impressive scale. From the large entrance hall with the well sized kitchen and living areas on the ground floor. One travels up the sweeping stair-case to the second floor where there are 3 huge double bedrooms. All of the spacious bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms and they all have a sea view and take advantage of the sea breeze, which blows year-round. Many of the bedrooms have two double beds in each, which means children can share with their parents. The master ensuite has the added attraction of its own private sitting room and private balcony overlooking the ocean. There are a number of small balconies on the ground-floor level as well as a covered area by the pool which is used during the day. Long lunches may be taken by the pool, over-looking the ocean. The pool has its own baby pool at one end so that non-swimmers are not left out. There is a small two-bed cottage, which sleeps 4, in the grounds, which may be rented separately.
The views from the top of the cliff are truly spectacular and the house has direct access to a truly amazing year-round sandy beach. The reef at Vipingo is relatively close to shore so there’s always something to look at and in the right season you can see hump-back whales from here. The sand-bar stretches right up the reef and the crystal-clear lagoon is fabulous for swimming in when the tide comes in. There is some decent snorkelling along the beaches at Vipingo as well as a healthy turtle population which is kept under the watchful eye of the local Bureni Turtle Watch. Local fishermen will visit the house from time to time with the catch of the day and fresh fruit and vegetables and supermarkets are available in nearby Mtwapa and Kilifi. Kivulini is definitely the house to rent in Vipingo if you are in a large family group or just a group of friends wishing to get away to the coast together. This would be an ideal beach house to rent near Vipingo Ridge Golf Course close enough to access the course but taking full advantage that it’s on the beach. The house is large enough that you will never get on top of each other and so you will all have a relaxing and fun holiday in this property.
