The Beach House in Vipingo is a double story family home offering spectacular views of the beach and ocean. There are some fantastic hand-painted murals in the house and the one in the downstairs loo is not to be missed. Whales and Turtles can be seen from here at the right time of year and the beach below the house is one of Vipingo’s prime turtle nesting beaches. Residents to the house will be informed when the nests are hatching, which is a spectacle one will never forget.
This property has excellent house-staff and cooks; fresh sea-food and healthy salads being the speciality. The kitchen is very well-equipped with two fridges and ample cutlery and crockery as well as a washing machine. The staff will do all the work so relaxation is the only thing you have to think about during your stay here for example they can arrange for a masseuse to come to the house to give you a massage by the pool. There are two dogs here who love meeting new people and enjoy an evening walk on the beach.
Situated on top of the cliff this home has a flat-roof where a table can be set up for sun downers followed by dinner under the stars. The Red House has 4 down-stairs bedrooms all with access to outside bathrooms a comfortable sitting room/dining area and a large cool spacious veranda over looking the beach and the ocean. Festooned in brightly coloured bougainvillea the house has a lovely tropical ambience.
To the right of the property is an infinity pool set under a canopy of palm trees so that it remains cool even in the hottest months.
Inside the courtyard a staircase leads you up to an open roof terrace which has the most incredible ocean views – perfect for whale watching. Off the roof terrace is the master-ensuite which has not one but two bathrooms, the second is a private bath situated on its own roof terrace; perfect end to a busy day can be spent enjoying a glass of wine whilst soaking in the tub under a moonlit sky.
Beach access is down a flight of stairs through the trees. There is a shower en route so you can wash the sand and salt off on the way back up before entering the pool.

Kellana Beach Cottage in Vipingo, sleeps 8, in four bedrooms all of which have sea-views and that benefit from the cooling breeze that comes off the ocean. Three of the bedrooms have double beds and the fourth is a twin, the two main bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms and the other two share a bathroom. There’s a large sitting room/dining room in the centre of the house, with its own bar. In front is a large spacious verandah with lots of comfy funzi-beds for leisurely days reading and relaxing. Kellana enjoys its own private sandy beach and you can access this via a ladder that can be put out for you. If you prefer, there are steps you can use which are a quick 1min walk from the house. If swimming in the sea is not enough, visitors to Kellana can enjoy the use of the Members’ Swimming pool situated in the Estate, a 5 min walk from the property. This is a huge swimming pool with fabulous ocean views and a lovely long sandy beach below so you get the best of both worlds. At Kellana, there is a sun-deck and barbeque area set in the cliff where you can enjoy meals under the stars at night. There are two staff on the property to help prepare meals and generally assist you and we will employ a night-guard and cleaner during your stay. Everything about Kivulini House in Vipingo is on an impressive scale. From the large entrance hall with the well sized kitchen and living areas on the ground floor. One travels up the sweeping stair-case to the second floor where there are 3 huge double bedrooms. All of the spacious bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms and they all have a sea view and take advantage of the sea breeze, which blows year-round. Many of the bedrooms have two double beds in each, which means children can share with their parents. The master ensuite has the added attraction of its own private sitting room and private balcony overlooking the ocean. There are a number of small balconies on the ground-floor level as well as a covered area by the pool which is used during the day. Long lunches may be taken by the pool, over-looking the ocean. The pool has its own baby pool at one end so that non-swimmers are not left out. There is a small two-bed cottage, which sleeps 4, in the grounds, which may be rented separately.
The views from the top of the cliff are truly spectacular and the house has direct access to a truly amazing year-round sandy beach. The reef at Vipingo is relatively close to shore so there’s always something to look at and in the right season you can see hump-back whales from here. The sand-bar stretches right up the reef and the crystal-clear lagoon is fabulous for swimming in when the tide comes in. There is some decent snorkelling along the beaches at Vipingo as well as a healthy turtle population which is kept under the watchful eye of the local Bureni Turtle Watch. Local fishermen will visit the house from time to time with the catch of the day and fresh fruit and vegetables and supermarkets are available in nearby Mtwapa and Kilifi. Kivulini is definitely the house to rent in Vipingo if you are in a large family group or just a group of friends wishing to get away to the coast together. This would be an ideal beach house to rent near Vipingo Ridge Golf Course close enough to access the course but taking full advantage that it’s on the beach. The house is large enough that you will never get on top of each other and so you will all have a relaxing and fun holiday in this property.
